Why we invested
This was an opportunity to back the two highly regarded leisure entrepreneurs who had created The Living Room concept, Tim Bacon and Jeremy Roberts, in rolling out a modern, service-led brand on a national basis. The Living Room represented a highly differentiated offering with significant growth potential and was led by an exceptional operational team.
Increase in sites
During the four years of our ownership, Living Ventures delivered strong growth in both sales and profits, increasing the number of sites from two to 15, including expanding into the London market. Two additional brands, Blackhouse Grill and Prohibition, were also developed.
In 2005, our investment was realised as part of a transaction with The Restaurant Group plc.
