Why we invested
The number of elderly people needing residential care in the UK is growing, as is the demand for privately-run, high calibre accommodation. As a leading provider with a strong regional presence, Healthcare Homes was well-positioned to capitalise on these trends. This was an opportunity to support a management team we had backed three times in the past, to expand the scale and scope of the company’s provision.

The result
During our investment, Healthcare Homes added over 200 beds to its estate, predominantly by developing its existing facilities. It also expanded its domiciliary care business, both organically and through selected bolt-on acquisitions. In parallel, the company achieved excellent ratings for the quality of its care, as well as industry-leading occupancy rates.
