Bowmark Capital has agreed to become a significant shareholder in SFG20, the UK industry standard for building maintenance specification, alongside the Building Engineering Services Association ("BESA").
Established by BESA in 1990, SFG20 provides customisable maintenance guidance through its cutting-edge software platform to facilities managers, building owners, contractors and consultants, helping them keep their assets safe, compliant, and operating efficiently.
SFG20’s proprietary database contains more than 1,500 maintenance schedules covering more than 14,000 legislation aligned tasks. Trusted by more than 1,000 industry participants, it is used to plan, deliver and audit asset maintenance. The SFG20 standard translates complex legislation and codes of practice into clear, actionable tasks for engineers, and is regularly updated to reflect changes in legislation, regulation and industry best practice.
In recent years, SFG20 has invested significantly in the digitisation of its offering. In 2024, it launched its cloud-based software platform, Facilities-iQ, followed in 2025 by SFG20 Mobiliser, an AI-powered module that maps customers' asset registers to the relevant maintenance schedules.
Driven by strong demand in the UK and internationally, the company is growing revenues at over 30% per annum.
Bowmark has a long track record of investing in market-leading data and technology businesses, including companies serving the built environment. Its recent investments in the sector include BCIS, the UK's leading provider of independent construction cost data, and Eque2, a leading provider of specialist enterprise resource planning software for the construction industry.
Bowmark’s partnership with SFG20 will support continued investment in the company's data, software and AI capabilities, as well as the development of new products, and expansion into adjacent segments of the construction market and internationally.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
