Founded in 2003 by Ralph Gilbert and Chris Goodman, Focus Group provides digital workplace solutions to approximately 30,000 SME customers, and has revenues in excess of £250 million and over 900 staff. The company offers a single point of contact for the information technology needs of its clients, providing communications and software solutions, connectivity and value-added IT services.
Bowmark originally invested in Focus Group in March 2020, to support the company’s growth strategy. During Bowmark’s four-year investment period, the company more than trebled its revenues, significantly expanded its range of technology solutions, and broadened its coverage across the UK. This was driven by double-digit organic growth and the completion of 24 acquisitions.
Bowmark partner Tom Shelford said: “Over the past four years, Focus Group has delivered industry-leading organic growth, coupled with a highly successful acquisition strategy to support its product and geographic expansion. We have built a strong partnership with the team as it invested in the people, systems and service excellence which underpin this success – and are excited to be working with Hg and the management team in the next stage of the company’s growth.”
Focus Group co-founder Chris Goodman commented: “Bowmark has been a great partner, helping us to capitalise on the company’s multiple growth opportunities, and we are delighted to be continuing the journey with them, alongside Hg.”
Hg partner, Nick Jordan, commented: “We welcome Bowmark’s continued investment and support, which is testament to the company’s exciting prospects, as we look to scale Focus into a national champion in the industry.”
