Why we invested
Demand for flexible workspace and managed office solutions has grown rapidly, driven by changing corporate attitudes, technology and an increasingly flexible workforce. At the time of our investment, The Instant Group was uniquely positioned to capitalise on this growth due to its value-added service offering, market-leading data and independent, client-centric business model – all highly differentiated from traditional providers.
During Bowmark’s period of investment, the company’s sales more than doubled. With our support, the business made significant investments in its global digital capabilities and sales and account management functions. These investments materially expanded its presence outside the UK, across the Americas, EMEA and Asia.
It also completed the acquisition of Incendium, a specialist commercial real estate consultancy. This enhanced Instant’s enterprise offering, with its consultative approach becoming an increasingly important differentiator in the market.
In March 2022, The Instant Group merged with IWG’s digital businesses to create the world’s largest independent marketplace for flexible workspace. The enlarged group, which is now managed independently by the Instant management team, serves more than 250,000 businesses in 175 countries, operating 24/7 through an integrated platform in more than 40 languages.
