Why we invested

CSL manages the signalling for over 350,000 intruder alarms located in commercial, retail and residential premises, and is the technology and service leader in the UK security communications market. This was an opportunity to help the company accelerate its growth in its core market, and pursue new opportunities in adjacent sectors and other international markets.

The result

During Bowmark’s period of investment, CSL doubled both its sales and profits and significantly extended its product portfolio. The company also expanded into new sectors, such as telehealth, and new geographic regions including Ireland, Sweden and the Netherlands. In 2016, CSL was sold to Norland Capital, ICONIQ Capital and RIT Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.
