The rise in consumer demand is coming mainly from ‘substituters’ who are choosing to avoid alcohol on certain occasions, rather than abstainers. This is driving the creation of line extensions from established alcohol brands across beer, wines and spirits, new mixers that can be enjoyed with or without alcohol, and endorsements from high-profile celebrities.
